Dedicated, non-contended, high-performance international connectivity

BandwidthBar offers a variety of dedicated, non-contended, International connectivity options via SAT3, WACS and SEACOM. Our routes also offer Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) options thereby ensuring guaranteed connectivity performance levels for your organisation.

The SAT-3/WACS/SAFE cable system links the west coast of Africa and South Africa to the SAFE cable, providing a pathway for telecommunications traffic between Asia and Europe and operates as an alternative to the cable routes passing through the Middle East. The SAT-3 cable has a capacity of 340 Gbit/s and SAFE has a capacity of 440 Gbits/s.

The West Africa Cable System (WACS) links South Africa with the United Kingdom, passing through 12 terminal stations along the west coast of Africa. The 14,530km long cable has four fibre pairs and lands at Yzerfontein, rather than Melkbosstrand, in order to reduce the risk of isolation from the rest of the world in the case of natural or mechanical damage to the submarine cable system. WACS’ capacity is between 3.84 and 5.12 Tbit/s.

SEACOM’s 17,000 kilometre network of submarine and terrestrial high speed fibre-optic cables extends to and from Europe, India and Asia. It is the only privately funded and neutral carrier in its market. SEACOM was switched on in July 2009 and has a design capacity of 4.2 Tbit/s. The first countries to be switched on included Djibouti, Kenya, Mozambique, South Africa and Tanzania.
